WHAT ARE THE DUTIES OF A PASTOR?
As representatives of the Arkansas District Council, we believe that a pastor's duties include preaching, providing spiritual guidance, offering pastoral care to congregants, administering the sacraments, and overseeing church operations. A pastor is responsible for leading worship services, teaching and interpreting the Bible, fostering a sense of community among congregants, and providing support during difficult times. It is the pastor's role to oversee the church's administrative functions, ensuring that service proceeds smoothly. Ultimately, a pastor's chief responsibility is to demonstrate and encourage a deep and abiding faith in the Lord and to model Christ's love to all members of the congregation.
